Everything is a progression as experiance reveals your faults. Looking at some of my earlier works I now realize that they seam flat, lacking in contrast and color variation. Waning Vase, a painting in this series from a few years ago, is a good example. I still like Waning allot. The perspective and forms are still interesting too me. It is as with all things, a step.
I in no way planed or drew out this piece. It began simply with the realization that I wanted to break up and vary my color much more. I actually had no plan as to what I was going to paint. Only that I would focus on color variation and contrast. The form found itself.
Form, color, composition, contrast, and the depth of atmosphere are all key to capturing reality. I wish too master all of these. But, it is the expression of EMOTION that interests me the most about art. To sling colored mud and make it sing to the observer. Too inspire joy, anguish, love, hate, fear, or understanding.
